Emerald Coast Troy Trojans,
It is THAT TIME again! Time to renew your membership in the Emerald Coast Chapter, Troy University Alumni and Friends. Dues are from July 1 through June 30. The price of college education continues to rise and access to university scholarships continue to be a challenge. Your Emerald Coast Alumni Chapter works tirelessly to help offset those costs so that Emerald Coast students may have a better opportunity to reach their educational goals. YOUR MEMBERSHIP DUES are a key component to our success. As costs goes up, we rely on our membership to continue to help our students.
I know that there are MANY Alumni entities within Troy University that ask for your membership. As a member of the Emerald Coast Chapter our chapter focus is on STUDENTS from the Emerald Coast that have chosen Troy University for their college education. Joining the Emerald Coast chapter entitles you to the EXACT SAME access to all Alumni Affairs activities but also provides you membership and access to ALL Emerald Coast Alumni activities such as the Trojan Tour; annual Fall membership gathering, Spring ‘State of the Chapter’ business meeting; home football game tailgates; mentoring and volunteer opportunities to help us represent in our local communities and many other activities. MOST IMPORTANTLY, KNOW that 100% of your dues go DIRECTLY to help Emerald Coast students attend Troy University.
Thanks to the hard work of chapter fund raising and YOUR MEMBERSHIP dues from this past year, our chapter was able to provide $14,000 dollars in scholarships to local seniors that chose Troy University; Make a 5-year $7500 pledge for construction of the new Alumni House; We hosted the Trojan Tour with our new head football and men’s basketball coaches, Chip Lindsey and Scott Cross, along with head woman’s basketball coach, Chanda Rigby.
Our golf tournament was held at the Fort Walton Municipal Golf Course and was a huge success! We had 38 teams pay and over 90 participate and while weather tried to get in the way, we got it in and everyone seemed to have a great time. Thank you to all that participated.
Our Fall Membership Meeting will be on August 22nd at the Elks Lodge on Okaloosa Island. We will start around 6:00 with the social and membership check-in, with dinner being served at 6:45. Athletic Director Brent Jones, will be our keynote speaker, with some others sprinkled in. Dinner is provided to members at no cost, cash bar will be available.
In order to help us, please consider using the SHOP area below. YOUR MEMBERSHIP is VITAL to our success! After all we are ‘Trojans One and All’ and helping our local students just solidifies our commitment!
As always, if you ever have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me!
